Ministries

Calvary offers a variety of different ministries beyond our main Sunday morning worship service, all of which are intended to build up God's people and to honor the Lord in different ways. Below you can find a few of the programs available at Calvary.

Preschool

Calvary Community Preschool has long been a loving and nurturing place in the Longview area. Children are given a solid foundation for success in their future education while also building wholesome friendship and social skills with their peers. If you would like to learn more about our preschool, see its dedicated page here.

Children

Kidz Church on Sunday mornings at 10 am, age-appropriate Sunday school classes at 11:15 am, childcare for the youngest during both, Awana on Wednesday at 6:30 pm, vacation Bible school and kids camp in the summertime—we've got a lot of great stuff for children. For the latest news on the Awana program, check their Facebook page here.

Youth

Calvary's youth group meets every Wednesday at 6:30 pm and features music, relevant teaching, food, and games. On top of that, we offer Sunday school classes for middle and high school students each Sunday at 11:15 am. Also, there are special outings, retreats, and camp opportunities for youth throughout the year. See their Instagram page here for the latest news and updates.

Seniors

Calvary's senior citizens are welcomed to get involved with the Freedom Years group that goes on seasonal outings throughout the year. Additionally, the Freedom Years group enjoys a lunch out or a specially themed luncheon on-site at the church each month.

Men

The men's ministry at Calvary is multifaceted. Each Wednesday at 10 am, men come together in the church library for a Bible study. On the first Saturday of the month we have our men's breakfast on-site at 9 am. There are occasional special outings (e.g., fishing, skeet shooting, hockey) and even an annual retreat in late spring for guys looking to connect.

women

Ladies are welcome to join either of two mid-week Bible studies especially for them: Tuesdays at 9:30 am or Wednesday at 9:30 am. We also offer's a women's study on Sunday at 11:15 am. The women's ministry hosts social events throughout the year (e.g., game nights, teas, bowling trips) and travels to the coast each year for a retreat in the early spring.

Families

Calvary offers monthly "Sticky Faith" dinners for our church family where all are invited for free food and good friends. Sometimes these dinners are held at the YMCA or in connection with a canoe trip at Lake Sacajawea. And each year, in the summer, Family Camp provides the chance for families to get away from the familiar and enjoy worship and Christian fellowship at a campsite in the region.

Music & Tech

Music has a prominent place at Calvary. From our worship team, to the choir, to those who perform special solos and duets, to the youth band, to the A/V technicians behind the scenes that make it all possible, there are loads of opportunities for musicians and people with related interests to get involved in the ministry at Calvary.

Crafts & Trades

God's blesses people with skill in crafts and trades. At Calvary we honor that by using those abilities for the glory of God. The Dorcas quilting guild gathers every Tuesday at 10 am to make quilts that are then distributed to new mothers and people in crisis. Also, the Brown-Baggers handyman group meets at the church every Monday morning to do the odd jobs that keep things running smoothly here.
